Hello

I am trying to plan my trip in October 2015. I need to return to CdG on Sunday to catch a plane to London at 12.30pm. Obviously this is far too early to buy train tickets but my research on thetrainline.com indicated that I could return at 7.38am and get there in time. However, in trying to look into this further it appears that the information provided by this website was incorrect and I may not be able to get to the airport in time. I am really just trying to access timetables and options at this stage and finding this really difficult if I am receiving incorrect information xo .

Can anyone advise if this is correct and what my possible options are, it really would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi!

You can book this ticket directly on the website of French Railways SNCF via our partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf[/ux] - no extra costs for you but we get a little comission to keep the website running. Thank you. :)

Booking is not open yet for October but you are probably referring to this connection:
Reims 0735 - 0746 Champagne Ardenne TGV
Champagne Ardenne TGV 0814 - 0845 Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV
SNCF will release its timetables for summer/autumn only in a few weeks but it is unlikely that this connection is going to change substantially.

This should leave you with enough time to get your flight at CDG - I assume you will return to Australia from London? Otherwise you may look into a Eurostar connection... :)

Flo, you are an absolute legend.

I can stop panicking now :D

I will most certainly book through the partner link that you have provided. This forum has been totally invaluable to me.

It appeared initially that there were a few reasonable options for a Sunday until I started to do 'test' bookings and then the wheels fell off.

You are correct I am returning to London to return to Australia and I have already booked on this flight after my initial research said it would be OK. I was considering the Eurostar return but was concerned about the Paris Gare de L'Est to Paris Gare du Nord transfer again carrying my lovely suitcase :) . As it turns out this was probably not necessary.

Again thanks

Hm...it could be that an initial search showed results from the current timetable and when you tried booking an error occured since booking is not yet open.

Gare de l'Est to Gare du Nord is really not that much of a problem, even with a suitcase, but going to CDG works out fine too in this case. :)

The ALT is dead simple and is not even able to prebook: take normal train to MEAUX and hourly local bus to airport (ticket -t=1,80) from there. Or=more expens. train till gare de l'Est and then RER. That site will only show the TGV-superfast trains(not at all that fast as station is way out of Reims=town of champagne) and they are notable sparse early sundays (as not too much demand then).
Youth <26 can get 25% off on normal fares-tarif jeune- in off-peak hours for normal trains.

That makes no sense at all...there are no sensible connections Reims - Meaux on Sunday morning, also the overall travel time would be looong.
