Just a quick question about reservations - I don't know the exact trains I'm taking yet, but do you have to make reservations for most journeys? Roughly I'm going Turin - Milan - Interlaken - Lausanne - Paris - Cologne - Berlin. Also, how far in advance and where would one do this?

Thanks !

Joanna

it always depends on the time you travel... avoid Friday afternoon/evening and Sunday afternoon/evening ... also sometimes the morning on working days (7-9h) ... then you normally do not need a reservation as you will always find a free seat!! :)
if you want a reservation, it will be around 3 EUR per train (but I always travel without a reservation!)
you can buy it nearly everywhere in Europe, but the best is to buy it one or two days in advance in the country where your train starts... :)
I hope this will help you?!? ;)
