Help!! I am desperately looking for an direct and overnight train from Budapest to Split on 25 June arriving on the 26th.

I've been looking on ACP and keep getting Online prices are currently unavailable for the selected route and I'm not sure if that is because I am too early... ??

I have no idea about planning train travel and would love any and all help! Any advice for booking? Flights are getting to be a bit expensive...
I am a beginner traveler and am looking for the most direct train to Split!

Hi.
Have a look at these two topics:

Hi Pete! :)

So I am trying to go through Mav-Start and keep getting this No offer available for the journey with these conditions. For the list of available offers click here.

Does this mean I am too early or they do not have a train for what I am looking for?

Thank you! :D

Also,

Would it be easier for me to just go to the train station when I get there and book Budapest - Zagreb and Zagreb to Split? Or will those be sold out maybe?

... :?:

Hi Ally.
Yes, too early: await the anual change in the schedules.
:)
Do you travel with a rail pass or do you want to travel with point to point tickets?
The direct overnight train is usually sold out if you try to book it only some days in advance.

Hi Ally!

As Peter already mentioned, the night train is likely to be fully booked well in advance; which is a bit of a problem since it is not possible to book online.
What you could do should be already explained in one of the topics linked above: Buy a ticket Budapest - Split locally at the international ticket desk at one of the big Budapest stations (Deli, Nyugati, Keleti https://rail.cc/en/budapest/station/c - I would recommend not going to the latter as it is usually crowded, especially in summer).
The ticket Budapest - Split is an open ticket which means that you could use any train on this route within the validitiy period of the ticket (which is usually two weeks). However, for the direct night train an additional reservation would be required. If you do not get a reservation for the direct train anymore, you can use one of the two daytime trains Budapest - Zagreb and change to one of the two domestic Zagreb - Split night trains there; or stay in Zagreb overnight and take a day train to Split.
Reservations are recommended for all these trains in peak summer and compulsory for Zagreb - Split day trains.
If money is a issue you can also book Budapest - Zagreb and Zagreb - Split separetely as is also explained in one of the above links I think. ;)
