Hi! :) I'm travelling in late september for a month and my idea/hopes for this trip is something like this: Dresden - Munchen - Alps - (Wien) - Budabest - Croatia (Plitvice) - Greek - Italy (coast) - Monaco - France (coast) - Barcelona (flight home).

1. Is this even possible to do in month? :D Or am I just dreaming?

2. First, we were thinking of doing that the other way (Flying to Barcelona and then through sweden and on boat back to Helsinki) but then I got thinking. How cold is it gonna be in late september?

3. I've been skiing in the Alps for three times but I just can't get enough! What beautiful places are there to see? I love all that gorgeous nature stuff :D

4. And is it possible to get a place to sleep? It's off-season so I wonder how hard can it be? Two-bed room at a hostel would be just great :D

5. Didn't quite get something. Do we need to do a reservation (train) more often or not? You know, off-season and all :)

I really hope I get an answer - or answers - 'cause help needed here! :os

Hi!

1) Should be easily doable within a month. If you feel unsure, you could separate the route into two or three segments and set dates when you have to finish each segment - that way you would make sure that you do not spend too much time at some places.

2) If you are lucky it can get very warm again around end of september but obviously it is hard to predict ;)

3) Any preferences? France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Slovenia?
The Swiss mountain railways are of course really nice, for instance https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/ - then you could take the night train from Milano to Vienna to continue or travel via Venice to Slovenia to get to Plitvice, then Budapest - Greece.

You could have a look at Salzkammergut in Austria or visit Lake Bled in Slovenia.

4) Have a look at booking sites such as hostelworld or booking.com - you find the links on the right.

5) You wont need many train reservations: Most trains within Greece require a reservation; as well as fast long distance trains in Italy and France. However you will be able to travel most routes without reservations.

Thank you! :)
