Interrail London - Paris - Brussels - Amsterdam - Copenhagen - Berlin - Prague - Krakow

Hi everybody,

i'm trying to plan my interrail (10 days within 22 days in may or june) and i think to visit capital cities above all. Can you help me by saying what do you think about this? I want to take a flight from Italy to London and then go to Paris by ferry (Dover-Calais). After seeing Paris i'd like to spend few time in Bruxelles before going to Amsterdam. And then Copenhagen, Berlin, Prague, Krakow (where i want to visit Auschwitz). Finally i think to go in Austria or Switzerland to take a panoramic train coming back to Italy. Is it possible? Or better if i visit less cities? Thank you :D

Hi.
Yes, definitely possible! :)

If you like, save one travel day and travel London to Paris by inexpensive bus - or pre-booked special price ticket for Eurostar. Have a look here for all options: https://rail.cc/blog/london-to-paris-by-eurostar-train-bus-or-ferry/

Paris to Brussels is possible by free regional and IC trains: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-brussels
Don't use the direct and expensive (extra reservation fee) Thalys train ( https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/thalys/41 )

Brussels to Amsterdam also possible to travel for free: https://rail.cc/blog/amsterdam-brussels-train/

Amsterdam to Copenhagen: in the summer months you will have to pay an additional reservation fee for the part Hamburg-Copenhagen (EUR 4,50).

Copenhagen to Berlin is possible in summer including the overnight train Malmö-Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/malmoe-berlin-en-301/57
Or again via Hamburg and with the EUR 4,50 extra.

Berlin to Prague is easy by several direct trains every day. It's free with Interrail. Sit on the left side - nicer view. :)

Prague to Krakow is the best to travel by overnight train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/prague-krakow-en-443/148
Either exit already in the early morning in Auschwitz, or continue to Krakow and make a day trip from there: https://rail.cc/en/oswiecim/museum-auschwitz-birkenau/l968

Then several options. Depends on the days left you have on your Interrail Pass. To continue with capitals, include Budapest, Vienna, Munich or Zurich.

A very scenic option (ans absolutely free with Interrail) back to Italy is this route: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/

From the border, continue by a special price ticket which you can buy for example via [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux]
