Hi,
I'm planning to travel from Copenhagen to Florence with changes in Hamburg and Munich. I know seat reservations are not mandatory between Copenhagen and Hamburg but would like to reserve seats anyway. Is there anyone who have any experience of making reservations for this trip and know where to make them? Seat reservations for Hamburg-Munich and Munich-Florence where easily done at db bahn but can not seem to get it right for Copenhagen - Hamburg.
Thanks

Hi!
I assume you are travelling with Interrail? Reservations for international _day_ trains are not (yet) available on Deutsche Bahn website [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]
I dont know of any other online option to get this reservation - you could try at [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux] but this certainly will be more expensive. If you have enough time in Copenhagen I would have a look if your train starts at Oesterport already (instead of Hovedbanegard, the central station) and already board the train there and look for a free seat.
When I was travelling on this route back in August 2013 it was no problem to get free seats for two persons although the train was really busy.
Be careful as some services on this route consist of two trains from Copenhagen but only one of them continues across the Fehmarnbelt to Hamburg.
To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Thanks for your reply and for clearing this up! Yes, I will be using interrail. I made the Copenhagen - Hamburg trip last year actually with single tickets and found it convenient not having to move around as a lot of interrailers without seat reservations had to do. I'm sure it works fine without reservations and maybe I am defying the interrailing spirit but I'm a bit lazy ;) Anyway, I found that db bahn have an office at huvudbanegÄrd so I'll see if they can help (I live across the straight in Sweden so might even consider going over there to make sure), otherwise I think I'll try the interrail booking service. Thanks once again for your help!

OK - so have a look at the office at Copenhagen, they should be able to help. ;)
It'd be great though if you support our work by buying your ticket through our partner link - no extra costs for you but you help us giving free support ;)

You should be able to do that too in most DSB resjsesenter-but there may be a (hefty) surcharge.
BTW: it has just been announced that the very busy summer period these trains will get obligatory REServation, free for those also buying normal tickets, payable for IR (probably the normal rate- 4-5 eur).

Do you know what date this comes into effect? Travelling from Hamburg > Copenhagen on the 9th of June and returning on the 13th of June, preferably via ICE with an interrail pass.
