Hi there!

I'm going for an interrail trip later this month, and my plan was to take an overnight train from Paris towards Barcelona including the Little Yellow Train.

According to this site, a departure at 21:56 from Paris should be possible with arrival 18:39 in Barcelona, but when I search for these tickets online there isn't any departure/arrivel matching those from this site :'(

Can anyone help me?

I hoped to leave Paris either the 28th, 29th or 30th of March arriving the day after in Barcelona.

Regards
Rikke :)

Hi Rikke.

Paris - Perpignan by overnight train (dep 2156 / arr 0720): https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/paris-portbou-icn-3731/78
Perpignan

Perpignan - Villefranche Vernet les Bains: dep 0826 / arr 0919 by local TER train - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/perpignan-to-villefranche-de-conflent
On week days you can get a train one hour earlier from Perpignan to Villefranche: but better to buy a little breakfast in Perpignan. :)

Villefranche Vernet les Bains - Latour de Carol: dep 0930 / arr 1231 by the PETIT TRAIN JAUNE: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/villefranche-de-conflent-to-latour-de-carol

And finally Latour de Carol - Barcelona by Spanish local train at around 1330: https://rail.cc/en/train/latour-de-carol-to-barcelona

This connection is available on your planed travel dates.

Here is a film about the Little Yellow Train: https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/

And please support the railcc project and buy your official Interrail pass via our partner links [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]

And as I saw on your profile: avoid the expensive (for Interrail travellers) Thalys train on the route Amsterdam to Paris.

Thank you. Peter :)

Hi!

Does this look possible for me on 5.6.2015:

Paris austerlitz - Latour de Carol 21:56 - 7:51 (Intercities night train: 21,5e in couchette?)
Latour de Carol - Barcelona 8:50 - 11:56 (local: free with Interrail pass?)

Is the little yellow train included in this route? Is there something I will definetly miss if I don't go via Perpignan?

And how do I get to Paris austerlitz from the city, or where in Paris is it located?

Thanks!

Hi.
If you travel this route, you will miss the Petit Train Jaune, as it is between Villefranche and Latour de Carol, not between Latour de Carol and Barcelona - see post above: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/villefranche-de-conflent-to-latour-de-carol
To include the Petit Train Jaune, do it like explained in the post above.
Paris Austerlitz: https://rail.cc/en/paris/paris-austerlitz-station/l282
Use schedule planer of on ratp.fr.
And as you travel with Interrail, please buy your Interrail pass via [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - click right before you order. railcc is official partner of interrail.eu - after your purchase fill the form to get free PLUS: https://rail.cc/en/plus
Thank you, Pete :)

Okay thank you!
Are all the other trains included in this route free with Interrail pass except the night train from Paris to Perignan? Can I buy the ticket to the other trains at the stations ticket office or in the train? Or do I have to do it before?

Hi.
Just follow the links above - switch to Interrail (button above the schedules) and you see that all trains from Perpignan via Latour de Carol to Barcelona (including the Petit Train Jaune) are free.
Reserve the night train Paris to Perpignan here: [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf/reservation/[/ux]

Thank you for help with the Petit Train Jaune. Do the train timings still work in late September? I have booked the Paris-Perpignan segment but don't find the Perpignan - Villefranche Vernet les Bains: dep 0826 / arr 0919 segment. I found a 0726 departure but the 0826 departure doesn't arrive until 0957. I hope it will work since I have already purchased the most expensive segments.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Jemill.
What date did you looked for schedules?

The train Perpignan to Villefranche Vernet les Bains will also run in September at 07:26 (arr 08:19, except on Sundays) and 08:26 (arr 09:19): http://plan.rail.cc/Perpignan/Villefranche-Vernet-les-Bains

If you travel with an Eurail pass, please be fair and buy it via one of our partner links (click right before you order and turn off ad-blockers): [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux] . With your purchase you support all the free information on the railcc-project - and you get your free PLUS account: https://rail.cc/en/plus Thank you! :)

Pete,
We're arriving from Paris on the overnight train on 29 September at 0720. The 0826 departure appears to be a bus, arriving in Villefranche-VLB at 0919. That doesn't seem long enough to connect to a 0726 departure while transferring luggage. Should I be concerned about any of these short connection times?
please be fair and buy it via one of our partner links
While we are not traveling on Eurail passes I have booked all my rail travel through [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] which i believe is a partner.

We will ultimately travel to Barcelona after the Petit Train Jaune. Is there anything else I should know?

Thank you,
Jeff :|

Hi Jeff.
There will be a train as much as the schedules say. Maybe they aren't filled in/updated on the SNCF website and other schedule planers. Here is the schedule file from local French TER transportation.
You see there is a 0826h departure at Perpignan with the change in Villefranche to the Little Yellow Train (0919 / 0930): http://cdn.ter.sncf.com/medias/PDF/languedoc_roussillon/FH06-Perpignan-Latour_tcm60-54309_tcm60-54269.pdf
In case there is no train (what I don't believe), you can always use the bus (not that scenic, but okay).
From Latour de Carol you take a local Spanish train to Barcelona. Tickets available in the train (should also be possible at the station) for about EUR 11 per adult.
And yes, if you use the link [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] right before your order, that will help as well the railcc project. :)
Have sunny travel days, Pete :)
