Hi everyone,
Me and my friends are busy planning our InterRail trip. A few of the trains we're taking require reservation, but for some trains the reservation is optional. We were wondering if it's smart to make a reservation for these, because it's quite expensive to book every train, but we don't want to end up standing half of our trip either. We're leaving on May 29th, so we won't be travelling during the peak season.
The trains with optional reservation are: Utrecht-Frankfurt (ICE), München-Verona (ECB), Split-Zagreb (night train), Budapest-Prague (EC), Oberhausen-Utrecht (ICE).

Thanks!

Hi!

# Utrecht - Frankfurt: Can be rather busy, especially on a Friday. I would not bother getting a reservation though.
# München - Verona: A supplement is required on the EC trains from Munich to Italy! https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/db-%C3%B6bb-eurocity/%C3%B6bb-db-%C3%B6bb-ec/32
# Split - Zagreb: At weekends I would make a reservation, especially if your group is 3+ persons. If bought locally it is really cheap (~1€).
# Budapest - Prague: Not necessary; just enter the train in time in Budapest (and dont get there one minute before departure). It is better to invest the money in some beers in the restaurant car. ;)
# Oberhausen - Utrecht: Nope.

What other trips have you planned? Maybe it is possible to travel without reservations on some of them?
