Good afternoon, I'm planning to do an interrail this summer with a few friends, and there are some questions about night trains supplements and hostels that I need to ask.
Also, some of these questions (like the first one) might seem like they have a really obvious answer, but I needed to ask them anyway.
1) Are the supplement prices in night trains individual or for groups? This when talking about the couchettes, and the like.
2) We are going between the second and thirds weeks of July. Is this part of peak season? Do we need need to reserve seats in normal day trains, and book night trains and hostels many days in advance?
3) How much days in advance should we book hostels and night trains in these conditions?
4) In regards to camping, is it very difficult to find camping sites relatively close to town?
If anyone could look at these and answer a few, we would be very thankful. :D
Happy travels!

Hi!
1) Reservation fares are always per person. The only exception would be the sleeper cabins on night trains in Norway which have a fixed price for both one or two persons.
2) This is close to peak season which is usually in August. If and how long in advance you need to reserve certain trains depends on the route you are going to take.
Also if you are travelling in a larger group it is advisable to book night trains quite early as well as hostels but this again varies from city to city.
3) Like I said this partly depends on where you are going and how many persons are travelling. For night trains I'd book at least one week in advance if you are 3+ people.
4) Again, totally depends on the cities you are going to. There are great campsites in the middle of the city, such in Bruxelles or they can be quite far away, like in Paris. You should also consider that you probably will need to pay for public transportation to get to/from the campsite so it might not be that cheaper than going to a hostel.
If you are from Lima you should check first if you are eligible for Interrail - you need to proof your residency in a European country to be able to travel with Interrail, otherwise you have to go with Eurail.

Wow, I did not think thid would be answered so fast, so I kind of went to do other things for a few days. I'm very pleasantly surprised! :D
Thank you for your feedback, flow, it was much appretiated. And The night train we will take will start in Zurich, to get away from hostel costs there. Which reminds me:
1) Are the only hostels that exist in the cities the ones we find on hostelworld.com? If not, how can we access that information?
2) In general, if we stay in hostels with kitchen, what kind of utensils do we need to bring from home? And in this I ask about the ones used form cooking, like pans and pots, etc. It can't hurt to be prepared. :D
Regardind night trains:
3) Does anyone know if it's mandatory to exit the night train when it arrives at it's destination? As in, if the train arrives at 5 am, we have to be ready at 5 am to exit, or can we stay for longer?
4) Are there any discounts for group bookings?
5) Are there any specific luggage rules in those trains?
Again, thank you so much for answering those previous questions, and hopefuly these are the last ones. :D And if there is an answer and it's along one and the information is available elsewhere, don't hesite to redirect me. 8)

1) If you book at hostelworld, please use our affiliate link [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] - thank you. :)
You can also look at [ux]https://rail.shop/hostelworld[/ux] There are not neccessarily all hostels available on these sites. Also look at [ux]https://rail.shop/bookingcom[/ux]
2) None, hostel kitchens are equipped with pans, dishes etc... :)
3) Usually yes, you have to get off. Only the night trains in the UK are available a bit longer at their destination.
4) There are no discounts for group reservations for Interrail.
5) Normally you are allowed to take as much hand luggage with you as you can carry; are you planning on bringing anything extraordinary with you? :D
