Hi!
There is a group of around 6 of us planning on going interrailing in August. We were thinking of starting off in Zagreb and going from there to Ljubljana-Budapest-Bratislava-Prague-Warsaw-Berlin-Amsterdam, is this a viable route?
We want to see as much as we can in the 22 days we'll be travelling would it be possible to get night trains for a good portion of this journey?
We also want to spend as little as possible on reservations etc, although I know we will need them for night trains but is it possible to do this route without many reservations?
Thanks in advance! :D

Hi!
The route is not very problematic; you are going to need seat reservations for travelling from Prague to Warsaw and Warsaw to Berlin. And of course for travel on night trains. Since you are travelling in a group of six you should try to get reservations as early as possible, especially for night trains.
I assume you are planning on going with the 10in22 ticket? This would mean that you would still have three travel days left so you could think about adding some other cities to your itinerary: Maybe think about Vienna, Krakow, Dresden, Hamburg and come places in the Benelux area?
Regarding night trains, you can have a look at the list of available night trains here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Hi Flo!
We're going with the 22 day continuous pass because we'll probably be stopping in different towns on the way to the bigger cities. We want to avoid the places we will probably get the chance to see again, we're going to get a flight to Croatia and then make our way back towards France for the Ferry back to Ireland.
What journeys do you think would be best to travel on night trains for?
Thanks a million for your help we will definitely be buying our tickets from railcc :D

Thank you! ;)
If you want, you could rearrange the trip a little and travel Bratislava - Budapest - night train to Warsaw - night train to Prague - Berlin; that way you would avoid getting seat reservations for Warsaw - Berlin. However, since you are six people you should get reservations for the night trains as early as possible, as I already said - ideally you would then get a six bed couchette for your party (bed numbers would be 41-46 then - the first digit indicates the cabin number; so if you would get the beds 35-36 and 43-46 you would be in two different cabins).
