Hi there,

I have just booked my flight to Milan for this summer, and me and my partner, are heading to Lake Como first and foremost then hope to see a bit of Italy, mainly Venice and then head up to Denmark and Sweden, and just looking for people to suggest the best way to do this and what kind of pass we need realistically, as we have been looking at the 15 day continuous pass. We are not looking on travelling through eastern Europe.

Many Thanks

Kieron

Hi Kieron!

IMO you would be better off with the 10in22 ticket - unless you would want to travel almost every day.
There are two railway lines touching the shores of Lake Como; one is the Milan to Zurich Gotthard line which stops in Como, the other is the line from Milan to Tirano, starting point of the Bernina line. I would suggest to travel this route if you enjoy scenic trips: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/

Within Italy, there are good connections from Milan to Venice with the Frecciabianca high speed trains which run at leasdt hourly (10€ reservation). You might also look into other cities in the area such as Bologna, Verona, Mantova or even Florence which is not really far away if you travel by high speed train.

If you decide to take the Bernina line as suggested above you could then spend some time in Zurich or Lucerne before heading up north. An interesting option would be the Zurich - Hamburg CNL night train: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/zurich-hamburg-cnl-478/24

Then continue to Copenhagen - Malmö/Lund - Gothenburg - Stockholm; you could also head far north using the Inlandsbana which runs only a few weeks in high summer: https://rail.cc/en/train-type/inlandsbanan/88

To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
