Im starting to plan my interrailing trip for next year, we're going to be flying into London and then we're planning on getting a train from London to Amsterdam. But I've started to look into it and it seem we're going to have to pay extra to use Eurostar or a ferry? Is there no way of doing this trip with just your pass?

if not what is the most cost effective way of doing this?

Hi!

There is no free option to get from the UK to mainland Europe with the InterRail pass. You can either take the Eurostar to Bruxelles and then continue to Amsterdam (but it can be cheaper to get a regular advance ticket for the Eurostar); or travel with one of the ferries. However, you would then also need to buy a ticket from London to the ferry port since travel in your country of residence is not included in InterRail. If you decide to go by ferry, the best option would be a Rail and Sail ticket for the Harwich - Hoek van Holland ferry: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/
Probably the cheapest option would be to use a bus - look for Megabus, iDBus and the likes.

To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
