Hoping to try out interrailing in the summer.
We're just starting out the planning so unsure of where is best to travel to first from the UK e.g. is it better to start off closer and work our way from Amsterdam or fly further and interrail back towards the UK?
Further, is there any stops in our preferred route which may break the travelling time up/would it be worth stopping somewhere else along the way to see the place?
Pretty clueless in the whole area so looking for a bit of help and guidance on where to start looking/planning and the best way to go about it.
Much appreciated if anyone could help :)
Thanks in advance.

Hi!

For starters, maybe have a look here https://rail.cc/en/first-time-interrail

Personally, I prefer to start IR trips with the places most far away from home (but I usually work my way there by train as well, not by plane), and then travel back home from there - this is better in case something does not work out as planned and you have to get home quickly.

You could also browse the travel routes section of the forum where there are loads of topics regarding routes similar to yours.
There is still some time until next summer so I am sure your plans might change a bit until then.
Just ask if there are questions... ;)
