Hi. I'm about to travel to Istanbul (and then Ankara - Teheran) and I have found this route https://rail.cc/en/train/berlin-to-istanbul

I just have one question about it, how many times to a change train? Is it in every town that is mentioned in the route?

Thanks in advance //Jan

no, but that does not mean its straightforward. AND there have been many changes recently and there are more to come-maybe for the better.
1.state nationality or make it very sure you properly understand how to get entry-visum for Iran-and follow news-IS is fighting quite close by there.
2.also depends if you want the least nr of changes-and pay more-or rather have the cheapest route. or if you are some sleepingcar-freak who wants trains with only that. Etc-there are many more permutations.
Use brains: the very obvious thing is to plug it into rail.shop/bahn-it will show up as far as in TR.
In short: direct trains Ber(Via Praha-Br-lava) to Budapest//change//direct train to CHOOSE; Beograd (delays aplenty) or Bucuresti (longer ride)//then onward. BUT there are longtime reco works in Balgaria and TR-which means you get shoevd into a bus anyway. Noone knows how long that will last and even if-how the situation will be after.
In TR they have just finished a new hi-speed line IST-Ankara, you also have to find your way across IST to some faraway station, and there is just a weekly train (but several daily buses, starting in IST) onward, via Van-lake Ferry. New reports tell, these trains (well-its just 1 or 2 wagons) are always booked solid weeks advance.
If you simply want the cheapest ''transportation'' DE-Iran: fly to TR on some cheapo airline and bus it from there.
