Hello,

I want to go to Kiev at the end of this month and I was wondering if it is possible (good option) to do by train.

I checked if I take a train from Poland (fly to warshaw) and from there take a train like:
https://rail.cc/en/train/warsaw-to-kiev

But I see its like 120 euro, It seems a bit expensive for a train in Eastern Europe, no?

Does anybody has suggestions for my trip NL > Kiev

*I like to travel by train
*Possible to take budget airline halfway(doesn't fly on UKR at the moment).
*Under 26

Hi.

Amsterdam to Warsaw available as train ticket from EUR 29 by overnight train. The sleeper seats are comfortable, couchettes inexpensive.
See the video I made: [ux]http://vimeo.com/railcc/jan-kiepura
Train: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/amsterdam-warsaw-en-447/91
Buy your ticket via:
[ux]https://rail.shop/nsinternational[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]

Warsaw to Kiev
Contact Polish railways, there you will get always speedy replies: https://rail.shop/pkpic[/ux]

And it would be nice to hear the final price you got from them.

Peter :)

I also thought about going from Budapest to Kiev, there is a train going:
https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-moscow

but if I want to check ticket on the Russia planner it says There are no direct trains available for the requested date
Although on the website it is indicating it Is going every day.

Hi.
Not all trains are available for online purchase on every date. Internet/online is nice - but not the only option. Just contact the railway company you want to use. :)
For Budapest to Kiev you can contact MAV: [ux]https://rail.shop/mav[/ux]

Warshaw > Kyiv (one way tickets)

Ticket price including the point of sleeping in the range of 3-person:
84,40 EUR
Ticket price including the point of sleeping in the range of 2-person:
100,40 euro
Ticket price including the point of sleeping in the range of 1-person:
174,30 euro

It is so strange why it is so expensive..

Thanks for the prices. :)
Yes, not that cheap... I don't know why - international travel expensive - national travel cheap. As soon as you crossed the border in anyway, it will be cheaper.

ben zelf net terug uit PL-en 6 x-toen het nog rustig daar was, in UKR geweest.
For CHEAP travel, go by BUS-all main UKR cities have direct buses from WAW-Zachodnie.
FLY: check if WIZZair still flies from Köln=CGN or Dortmund, closest by from NL. But actual situation now I do not know, civil unrest. 3-4 yrs ago a return for less as 100 eur was easy to get.
Trains are never the cheapest, as bus is Always able to undercut. Plus that trains charge the normal INTernational fares, which are MUCH higher as you would pay for same Kms in UKR itself (f.e. Lviv-Kyjv cost less as 10 eur in UKR-sleeper/kupey). THis is a remnant from the old socialist hammer&sickle days-then it was even much worse to fleese the capitalists. These train-lovers never tell you the whole truth-they always think that go by train is worth a million. Thus the trick for those trainriders is to jump over borders with short way ticket and pay as much as possible for In the country. F.e. in PL-on weekend, you can use the traveller ticket for the ''fast''-and old and uncomfy TLK trains for just 69 PLN=15 eur.
Cheap bus from NL: meinfernbus to Berlin, polskibus from B to WAW or to Krakow. or simple-express.eu B-WAW (bus goes to Tallinn)
