I was hoping someone could help me figure out how to get from Milan to the Contra Dam. I'll have a Global Interrail pass and am looking to travel on 23/08/14. I've seen another site which suggests getting a train to Bellinzona, then Bellinzona to Tenero and then a bus to the dam, but I can't seem to find these connections on railcc. Has anyone made this trip?

never heard of it-why not be that little bit more clear- but it seems its in CH=Swiss. Then simply use the all-Swiss planner on sbb.ch (sbb.com for the eengleesh), start from border stop Chiasso. Daft easy.

Hi,
nevermind the grumpy answer above...
We cannot include every single connection on the railcc website - as we do this manually this is simply not possible, and the aim mainly is to show the best connections on the major routes.
You can look for connections to Contra Dam on [ux]https://rail.shop/sbb[/ux] - look for connections from Chiasso (the IT/CH border station) to Diga Verzasca, this is the bus station beside the dam. You will have to change in Bellinzona and Tenero. To get to Chiasso, best use the regional trains operated by Trenord from Milano Porta Garibaldi station which run hourly (schedules at trenord.it).
No reservations needed but an extra ticket for the bus from Tenero to the dam (buy locally).
To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
