A friend and I are planning a 32 day interrail trip going from london to amsterdam-copenhagen-goteborg-oslo-tromso-helsinki-stockholm (ferry back from helsinki)-brdansk (or other polish destination which you can get to on ferry from sweden)- warsaw-krakow- Prague-Munich- Vienna-budapest-split-zagreb
We're organising an island hopping 6 day excursion, which will leave us two days before our flight takes us from split to london, so we might wanna go to zagreb before the flight. Essentially we have 2 days in each destination. the scandinavia part with the ferries is flexible, so any advice there would be appreciated. Any suggestions about order/alternative locations in poland, or anything else wuld be appreciated.
cheers

How are you going to Tromsø? There are not trains to that place and it's quite far, maybe flying? And maybe you should change Stockholm and Helsinki, it looks more doable to me... Anyway nice, but very expensive i guess, trip!

Basically we wanted to see the northern lights, and were told that tromso was a place this could be done. Is there a direct train to somwhere which does have the northern lights?
In terms of intra scandinavian travel; loking at the train map there's no train track between sweden and helsinki; essentially we wanted a scenic route which would run along the coast betwen stockholm and helsinki (ambitous i know) . Is Finland worth visiting? Seriously, any tips or ideas for scandinavia are welcome, even if they contradict whats been done so far-tips on routes to take, attractions etc would really help. Cheers

The northern lights are visible in northern Sweden, and you can go from Stockholm or Gothenburg to Lulea or Boden or something quite easily. Finland is not worth the hassle, I reckon.

hi boulox,
there is no complete train track between stockholm and helsinki but between luleå and kemi you can take busses. (included in the interrail ticket) The route is quite scenic (especially Luleå - Haparanda) and i would definitely recommend it.
