I have a few questions:
We have 4 women traveling together, ages 24,26,59,73……...
Vienna - Prague - Cesky Krumlov - Salzburg - Ljubljana - Vienna
Is it possible to do this by Eurail area pass?
My understanding is that you have to use a regional train/bus to get from Cesky Krumlov to Salzburg that would not be part of a Eurail pass. Is this correct? What is most economical way of doing this itinerary by train?
Trains from Salzburg to Ljubljana and then trains to Vienna; these all seem to connect through Villach. How tight a connect is acceptable when traveling with 4 persons, 2 senior citizens, 3 of whom have little travel experience? In other words, is this a small depot or a busy station and would 8 minutes be enough time to change trains?
Tx,
Michele

Hi Michele!
The trains to Cesky Krumlov are operated by CD, the Czech State Railways, and thus included in your Eurail pass.
If you want, you can do the whole trip with a Eurail pass; for instance the Select Pass for 3 countries would be suited well for your route: https://rail.cc/en/eurail-select-pass
This would be the most convenient option - just hop on the trains you want to take, no extra reservations needed for the whole route.
If you want to travel cheaper, it might be worth looking into regular tickets bought either online in advance or locally at the station.
To get from Salzburg to Ljubljana, I would recommend the direct train:
Salzburg Hbf 1412 - 1831 Ljubljana (depending on your date of travel, you might face a bus replacement service on part of the route)
Similarly, to get from Ljubljana to Wien I would also recommend to take the direct train:
Ljubljana 1600 - 2157 Wien Meidling
In case you opt for the Eurail pass, please support railcc by purchasing your official Eurail pass through our affiliate link at [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux] - thank you. :)

Flo, thanks for the information. Is a train from the rain station in Vienna airport to the Vienna central station (Wie)n also included in Eurail?

The regular suburban trains (S-Bahn line S7) are included; not the direct fast train City Airport Train CAT.
