Hi!
big problem: I am italian and I know that the interrail pass is not valid in my country (italy), but i want to take the eurocity night train from Udine (my city) to Munich, which has obbligatory reservation. How can I do? I know i should buy the reservation for the entire journey and also the ticket from udine to the border. The reservation is not a problem because i can do it on the db website, but i can't find a place where to buy the ticket to the border!!! I can't do it on the db website or on the obb website and i can't do it at the railway station because they say it is an austrian/german train company and Trenitalia is not allowed to sell their tickets! they said maybe i could buy it on board but i am not so sure and i don't want bad surprises at the beginning of the journey!
PLEASE HELP! :'(

Hi!

According to ÖBB (Austrian Railways) you should get all tickets for the night trains to Germany/Austria at Trenitalia ticket offices... :|
Maybe it is the best to contact DB directly if you want to use the night train - or save the money for the reservation and travel during the day instead.

Hi!
First of all, thanks a lot for the answer.
I mailed DB and they told me i should buy the ticket at any trenitalia railway station. I asked in Udine and Trieste which are the major and nearest stations, but they both said they can't do the tickets for OBB trains anymore. I think i will buy the tickets on board. :|

Sorry to hear that. :|
There have been problems during the last years with the international trains from Germany and Austria to Italy since Trenitalia refused to cooperate with DB and ÖBB, therefore they started to work with LeNord company instead and bookings were not possible at Italian stations (and trains did not show up in the schedule planners of Trenitalia). Then, Trenitalia bought a share of LeNord and booking and timetable info was possible and available again...but I dont quite get what is the problem now again... :(
