Hello,
My family and I are scheduled to visit a friend in Italy this December. I trying to figure out how much money we will be spending on train tickets. We live in USA and my friend lives in Italy, but I believe he still has a Philippine passport. He's been there for a while now.
My questions are - Can I include him on my itinerary when I book the tickets online or does he have to buy his own ticket since he lives in Italy? Can he buy the tickets for us?
Thanks

Hi.
If you know your exact travel route, buy the train tickets in advance. E-tickets are very cheap in Italy, booked several weeks in advance (pre-booking time max 2-3 months).
You can do it via this link - [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] - where you will get after payment an email with a link to your e-ticket. Just print it out at home. Very easy. :)
If you want to be a bit more flexible, a look on an Eurail Pass Italy might be interessting. But depends as well on how many days you travel, length of distances: https://rail.cc/en/eurail-one-country-pass
And it is not problem to travel together - either with Eurail or point to point tickets.

Peter,
Thanks for the info! I still have time before I book the tickets. But I still have a couple of questions.
Can I include my friend who lives in Italy on our itinerary when I buy the tickets from this site or does he have to buy his own ticket since he lives in Italy? Can he buy the tickets for us in Italy? I'm just afraid that the conductor will ask some ID and see that the country of residence on the ticket and the country of residence on the ID does not match.
THanks

Hi.
If you or your friend buys e-tickets via [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] , it doesn't matters if he lives in Italy or not - or if you live in Italy or not.
