Hello everyone :)

I'm planning an InterRail for this summer and I would like to know what is the best way to get from Vienna to Hallstatt.

Thank you very much in advance :)

Hi!

Take a InterCity train from Wien Westbahnhof to Attnang-Puchheim, departure from Westbahnhof every hour at 56 minutes (the destination of the train usually is Salzburg, sometimes also Innsbruck/Bregenz/Klagenfurt); in Attnang-Puchheim change to the REX or R train to Stainach-Irdning or Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen to get to Hallstatt. At Hallstatt station you have a connecting boat to Hallstatt town.

Example connections (each connection runs every two hours):

Wien Westbahnhof 0956 - 1258 Attnang-Puchheim
Attnang-Puchheim 1211 - 1324 Hallstatt

Wien Westbahnhof 1056 - 1358 Attnang-Puchheim
Attnang-Puchheim 1311 - 1447 Hallstatt

To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Just one last question all of this trains (intercity and the R train) are included on the inter rail global pass?
