Hi everyone,

I was wondering which documents the train staff may ask you when controlling your train passes.

I'm planning to travel along these countries: France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Will I be fine with just my Portuguese citizen's card?

Thanks a lot ;)

Hi!

If the train staff checks the documents it would want to see the document which ID number you have used when purchasing the InterRail ticket. I always use my passport ID so take my passport with me while travelling, but you can also use your PT citizen card which is a valid document to travel in Europe: https://rail.cc/en/passport-and-or-citizenship-card-in-eu-countries/f10661
