Hello guys!
Currently I'm on Erasmus in Warsaw and I'm about to leave Poland in a week, back into my country: Portugal. I thought about something different when it comes to return. Because I didn't have much time to travel as I wanted during my Erasmus experience, I'll send my luggage via postdelivery to my home and embrace a 10days Interrail on my own!
I designed this travel route. I want to visit Budapest for sure, and since it's summer I prefer being near the coast. I never visited Croatia as well, and I heard/saw it is a beautiful place to be on this season of the year. However, here comes my first doubt: Zagreb is really worth? I mean, it's the capital, but I heard that the main attractiveness of the country is on the south: Split, specially (crazy parties happening!). But isn't it a little bit off my course?
Also, I need recommendations in terms of place to stay in Italy. I've visited already Rome, Firenze, Pisa, Genova and Venezia, and I didn't really want to spend many days here, so it would have to be a city in the North just to stay for one day. Same with France. I thought about Marseille because it's somehow central and could be done easily from Italy and it's possible to reach Barcelona fairly easilly via connection.
I want really to end up in Barcelona. It's a city that I love, and I plan to take the plane there after 2 days minimum of staying.
So it would be like this:
2 days Budapest . probably 2 nights on a party hostel
2 days Croatia (Zagreb or Split, what do you think? Is it too off-road if I go to Split?) - couchsurfing
1 day Italy (which city? Bologna, Milano or other?) - hmm... Still have to think this one :P
1/2 days Marseille - ???
2/3 days Barcelona - Party Hostel
What do you think about the trip? Is it too rushed? Are there more interesting places to check on my way to Barcelona? I would like to visit Prague as well or even Bratislava or Wien, but it's too much offcourse. Feel free to suggest other kind of itinerary though :)
I will buy the 10days - 5 traveldays pass and will be alone (kinda of nervous about it, but eh, Carpe Diem :P ). No camping gear, only 1 backpack, and circa 400€ of budget.
Thank you very much!

Hi!
TBH I think Split and the south of Croatia in general is a bit off course your route - you only have 5 travel days and would need already three to get there from Warsaw...
Marseille is a good option, very interesting city and you can reach Barcelona within one day.
If you take away the Warsaw - Budapest and Marseille - Barcelona trips this would leave you with three travel days to get from Budapest to Marseille.
In Italy, I think Bologna or even Verona could be good choices in terms of accesability and interestingness/beauty. Also, you could get to Marseille within one (albeit rather long) travel day.
Since you would need one travel day to get from Budapest to Zagreb (or Croatia in general) and the way from Croatia to Italy being long and a bit complicated you might think about skipping Croatia altogether and instead just head for a quick visit to Slovenia (Ljubljana/Lake Bled/maybe Koper with nearby Piran (the latter only accessible by bus) before going to Italy.

Hello flow!
First of all, thanks for the reply, really appreciate the tips! :)
I decided to indeed drop Croatia due to the really long distance. Would be good if I had 10 travelling days, but like this is really difficult.
I have managed also to make big changes in my plan. I noticed that doing this tour wouldn't allow me to visit the cities as much as I wanted. Also, being from Portugal as I am, it's much more unlikely to visit Eastern Europe in the future than, let's say, Italy, France and Spain. So I made the decision to stick to central/eastern countries only and then get a plane on München (Memmingen) back to my country.
So it would be like this:
Budapest (2 days)
Ljubljana (1 day)
Wien + Bratislava (2 days)
Prague (2 days)
München (2 days)
I just have some doubts regarding a couple of things:
1) Bratislava - is it worth it? I heard that it is a small city and not very attractive. Maybe 1 afternoon is enough to check it out? (it's 1hour away from Wien, but I want to get to know Wien well!)
Wien - Prague - Munich makes sense? I mean, I'll have to travel down, from Warsaw to Ljubljana and then up again. Would you switch the order of these visits?
Thanks in advance! :)

I would travel Warsaw - Prague - Budapest - Vienna - Ljubljana - Munich then which would allow you to travel with a night train from Warsaw to Prague, Prague to Budapest as well as Ljubljana to Munich to have more time in each city.
Munich - Memmingen would be by regular ticket then, ideally after the validity period of the IR ticket.
