Hey guys :)

I've won an InterRail GlobalPass 15 days continuous and I couldn't be more excited - it's already so much fun just thinking about the various routes possible! :)
My trip won't start until the beginning of September since I have to work until the end of August, but I figured: the earlier, the better. Also, I don't have to make any bookings right now but it can't be bad to get some second opinions beforehand on where to travel, what to do and how to organize.

So what's the deal?
I always wanted to go to Portugal, for no other reason than imagining it (sparked by films, photographies and the accounts of others) to be really beautiful.
I was thinking about flying to a city a bit closer to Portugal than Vienna (where I live right now) to make the most of the fifteen days. Since I didn't pay for the GlobalPass it wouldn't bother me much to pay for a flight to some city.
I'd also like to visit Barcelona for a few days and/or even go to Morocco - this would probably take longer than 15 Days, which would be fine, I do have some money to pay for some extra trips, but I'm not sure for example how to get back from Morocco to Vienna (probably via plane?) and so on and so on.

Maybe it would be best to directly fly to Barcelona before the InterRail pass starts and spend a few days there and then travel to Portugal by train and then down to the southern border of Spain and spend some days in Morocco!?

I know this is not much to be going on about but I'm just starting out on planning, if you ave any questions pleas ask! I'd be glad to hear some opinions :)

Have a nice day,
Lisa :)

So, I'm not sure if this is a topic that belongs here, if some of the admins feel like it rather belongs to the Travel routes section, feel free to move it!

Hej Lisa,

congrats on winning the ticket! :)
Flying at least one way might make sense if you want to make the most of your time - by train it will take about two days to get to Barcelona or Lisbon.
Keep in mind that you will need extra reservations for most long distance trains in both Spain and Portugal - but this should not bother you too much since you did not have to pay for the ticket. Personally, I think the 15 days pass is a bit awkward and I prefer the 10in22, but anyway...you could travel to lots of different places and cities using the pass.

InterRail is not valid anymore in Morocco since 2007, so if you really want to go there you should do that before or after the validity period of your ticket.
