When trying to make reservations for TGVs from Germany to France and from France to Spain, I found out, that it is impossible to make a Reservation for the part of the route, that crosses a border. It seems to work when making a reservation for the bit in one country and another reservation for the bit in the other country, but it is impossible to make a reservation for the whole route or the bit that crosses the boarder. Trains, that run through from France to Spain (i.e. the TGV from Marseille to Madrid) don't even show up in the search.

Is it really necessary to make two reservations and to buy a ticket for the boarder-crossing bit? The routes that are affected are Frankfurt-Marseille and France-Barcelona. Interestingly, there is no problem with making a reservation from Frankfurt to Paris.

Hi!

TGV Elipsos from France to Spain are only to possible to reserve locally at stations in either France or Spain. This is due to a different booking system being used for these trains which is not yet connected to the regular booking system used in many European countries.
I cant tell what is the issue with the reservation for the TGV to Marseille though. Where did you try to get these reservations?

I tried to make the reservations on this site. The two specific routes are Frankfurt-Marseille with TGV 9580. For this train, it is possible to make a reservation from Frankfurt to Mulhouse and another from Mulhouse to Marseille. The second route is from Nimes to Barcelona with TGV 9711. It is possible to make a reservation for this train from Nimes to Perpignan and another from Figuerres-Villafant to Barcelona, but the boarder-crossing bit doesn't show up when searching for it.

Like I explained above, TGV trains from France to Spain and vise versa can only be reserved at a station in France or Spain at the moment, not online.

For the second reservation, I recommend to get it at a train station as well - possible in France, Germany, Austria...
Please note: We dont earn anything from reservations made through rail.shop/acprail/reservation - this is just an extra service we are able to offer through our partner ACP. Reservations through this sales channel can be more expensive than at a station due to extra handling fees on which we do not have any influence.

Thank you! :)
