Hi, I need a help with my Interrail Eurotrip :)

I am from the Czech Republic so I start from Prague at 18:29 with EN456 Phoenix travelling to Amsterdam. The problem is that I cannot use my interrail ticket in the Czech Republic. So I have to buy a single ticket from Prague to Bad Schandau and then I can use the interrail ticket with 7PM rule?

Another problem is the required reservation, I suppose that I have to buy it at the train station in Prague, from Prague to Amsterdam or from Bad Schandau to Amsterdam? I have checked your website https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/prague-amsterdam-cnl456/14 but I don't know if the information are updated.

The same problem I will have when returning back in the middle of July from Curych to Prague. The train EN459 Canopus leaves at 19:42 form Curych and arrives at 10:31 to Prague, again I need to buy a single ticket from the border to Prague and buy the reservation.

I haven't already bought the interrail ticket, when I plan the trip I will do so using your website because I want to support your work and this forum :) Three-day shipping to the Czech Republic works, doesn't it?

Thank you for the reply.

Hi Martin.
Prague - Amsterdam: the information is up to date - [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/prague-dresden-berlin-amsterdam/city-night-line-456-kopernikus/14
Read the details there: if you want to buy the reservation online, either departure or arrival station has to be in Germany. Therefore make a reservation for Bad Schandau to Amsterdam. To Bad Schandau use this night train in the 2nd class seated wagon. It is free to use (no reservation required) until your change.
So buy a ticket for Praha to Bad Schandau/Schöna, available here: https://rail.shop/cd[/ux] - or available as well at the railway station in Prague.
Note: if you want to use the 19:00h-rule for night trains, your ticket has to be already valid.
Read here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
The same for your way back home.
Thank you for supporting all our work! Shipping by standard service to the Czech Republic is 3-7 business days, by express it is 1-3 business days - [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Peter :)

Thank you.

To be sure: I want to go on July 1 from Prague, in Amsterdam I will be on July 2 in the morning, so if I am reading well, I have to buy interrail ticket with starting date July 1 and fill the first travel day July 2? Isn't it a problem because in the conditions there is written that the first travel day has to be same as printed on the ticket?

Hi Martin!

You will need a ticket from Praha to Schöna (Gr) - this is the border tariff point between Czeck Republic and Germany from where your InterRail ticket is valid. It is not necessary to book to Bad Schandau. You can get that ticket (including 45% reduction offered by CD) at a station in Czech Republic.
If you want to use the night train from Praha you could buy the reservation together with the ticket Praha - Schöna (Gr) at a station.

If you want to leave on July 1 your pass has to be valid already on July 1 (so logically you would buy a pass with first day of validity: July 1) and it is no problem to then fill in July 2 as your first travel day and make use of the 1900 rule.
Similarily, when you return from Zürich you would have to leave on the evening of July 21 and then arrive in Praha on July 22 while your pass is still valid.
Where did you find that written in the conditions? Maybe you confused it with the rule I explained above that you can not use the 1900 rule before the first day of validity and after the last day of validity.

Thanks for supporting.

Yeah, I was a little bit confused that the first valid day and first travel day will not be the same, now everything is clear, thank you for the explanation :)

No I have planned the starting road and finishing road o) , don't worry that I will not post another topic with different problem :)

Thanks!!

Hello, one another question about filling the dates in the ticket: I use overnight train which leaves on July 1 at 18:29 from Prague. I use separate ticket for the journey from Prague to Schöna (Gr). The train is in Schöna (Gr) between 20:00 and 20:17 (it is not written in the timetable). The train arrives in Amsterdam on July 2 at 10:03.

In the Travel Calendar on the ticket I will write July 2 because of the 1900 rule, that's clear. But what should I fill in the Journey details? Which part of the journey, what date and time of departure? Because if I want to write the journey from Schöna (Gr) to Amsterdam, I don't know the exact time and even I don't know if I should write July 1 or July 2.

Thank you in advance!

Hi!

I always fill in my complete journey, also the parts in Austria that are not covered by InterRail. In your case I would just write 1st July 1829 Praha - Amsterdam. :)
