Hi!
I'm planning on travelling through Europe next spring. I have a few questions about my travel route and my destinations.
Firstly is this travel route: Amsterdam-Copenhagen-Stockholm-Oslo-London-Paris-Madrid-Faro possible?
I'm planning on getting an InterRail Global pass for a month. I would start in Amsterdam (I live in the Netherlands) and take the night train to Copenhagen. I'm not planning in staying in Denmark so I would take a train in Copenhagen to Stockholm. I want to travel through Sweden for a week. I would like to go to the north of Sweden. After that week I would go to Norway. And also stay a week in Norway. Than I would take a flight from Oslo to London. And stay a week in England. From London a would take the bus to Paris. In Paris the night train to Madrid. And stay a couple of days there and then take the train to Sevillia and from there train to Faro. My grandfather lives in Faro so that would be my end destination. From there I will fly back.

The questions:
- Is the travel route possible? Or is it too much for 30 days?
- Do you think the Interrail Global pass will be cheaper than buying single traintickets for this travel route?
- I'm going in April/Mai. I don't mind if it's cold in Scandanavic but I'm worried about travelling in that period because of the possibility of snow and train delays. Is it a bad idea to go in spring?
- I'm 18 years old. Do you think that's too young? I'm also planning on doing it on my own.
- I would like to camp in Sweden and Norway but I'm not sure if that's a good idea because you'll have to take it with you everywhere.

Hope someone can help me :)

Merel

Ps. I live in Holland so my grammar can be wrong sometimes, sorry for that.

Hi Merel.
Eays to do you route.
Some short words as I think there is still a lot of time to plan you trip! :)

Camping in April in Northern Sweden/Norway might become a cold adventure. I was there in May and even had some snow in the North of Abisko to Narvik.
Sadly Inlandsbanan starts later in June: https://rail.cc/en/train-type/inlandsbanan/88
I recommend to go up to the North to Narvik: https://rail.cc/blog/to-the-north-the-iron-ore-line-to-narvik/
Then why not the Lofoten islands and back down to the south.

The Paris-Madrid night train no longer exists. Have a look at this option including the Little Yellow Train: https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/
Then you could travel either via Madrid to Sevilla and border crossing to Portugal/Faro by bus... or for example night train Madrid-Lisbon and then down to Faro by train.

To support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Peter :)

Thanks for the quick reply!
I'm going to take a good look at your option and probably at them to my route.
Then I will go from Paris to Barcelona. And from Barcelona to Sevilla/Faro.
I heard from another forum that the nighttrain from Amsterdam to Copenhagen will stop existing in 2015.
Do you maybe know if that is true?

Nothing is official yet, but yes, sadly all CNL trains to Copenhagen (from Amsterdam/Basel/Prague) are planned to be withdrawn in December. :(

I hope it won't but I'll search for an alternatieve route.

Are the places Sundvalls, Ostersund and Trondheim worth staying for a couple of days?
Are there any other places, except the ones that Peter mentioned, I should visit?

Thanks for your help!

Hi! Sundsvall is not that exiting, Östersund on the other hand is really nice, both in summer and winter. They have an outdoor museum called Jamtli from which you can learn a lot of swedish history. The city is nice situated along the Storsjön. You can from here also go to Åre which is the most famoust ski resort in Sweden, if you are early enough there will still be snow here, otherwise there is also a lot of summer activities such as mountain biking downhill.
