Hi guys,

I'm going a few weeks on the Med but before I purchase the pass, I'm trying to bulk out the trip with some less costing point-to-point trips in order to get a cheaper pass. I'll be doing this trip in Mid-August but do you think it's wise to just buy the tickets at the respective stations or to buy them beforehand?

Tom

Hej Tom,

Cannes - Nice - Monaco can all be done with single tickets bought locally, no need to do so in advance or to use pass days if you are aiming to get a cheaper pass.
Also purchase the ticket to the border at Ventimiglia locally; from Genova to Milano you can pre purchase a ticket for the Intercity to Genova for just 9€ (still available about one week in advance), regular fare is 19€ or 11,40€ for the regional train (regional trains take about half an hour longer) and can be bought locally.
Genova - Milan is similar to Ventimiglia - Genova.

IN France -if you are <26, you get 25% off, only off-peak: tarif junior.
In that deptm the buses are only 1 eur/trip. Google for busazur.
There are also daypasses in that area-for the whole departement-check ter-sncf.com, then find PACA region.
