Hi guys,

Finally planned all my trains and booked Hotels for my trip this August. Do you mind checking it over to see it all makes sense - i.e. I'm not missing a reservation I need somewhere. Or whether i need to pay for a ticket as my interrail pass doesn't cover a certain train - e.g. mainly Berlin-Prague-Munich and in Switzerland

I'm aware I made a cock up getting off at Brig from Milan but no harm done as still get same train later, just less waiting time and more time on trains.

Big thank you in advance. Also for all the help I've received so far. I'll continue to support railcc whenever I book a train in Europe. :)

*Schedule deleted.

Hi.

Berlin to Prague: sit on the left side.

Milan to Lauterbrunnen: if you love to travel by train, you could include this route: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/

Peter :)

Concerning Milan-Spiez: you won't have to change trains in Brig. Just stay on the Eurocity-train from Milan until Spiez, as there is no compulsory reservation for this train within Switzerland.

But as you'll arrive in Lauterbrunnnen rather early, a very good option imo would also be to take a Lötschberger Regional Express for the journey from Brig to Spiez instead of the EC. While all Intercity/Eurocity trains nowadays speed through the base tunnel, those RE run along the old line over the mountain (well, in fact there is also a tunnel at the highest point). It is very scenic and offers great views, really recommended! Journey time +30min
Take a seat on the left hand side... :)

Looks good.

Please keep in mind that Interaken - Lauterbrunnen is operated by BOB and not covered by InterRail. Single ticket is 7,40 CHF, return is double the price.
I'll have to second that what JoySeeker said regarding the trip with the Lötschberger train. :)

On the train from Prague to Munich there is a Czech restaurant car, highly recommended! Menu: http://www.jidelnivozy.cz/jidelni-listky/ng-2013-14-2/CDR_JL_BISTRO_Kafka-Smetana_web.pdf

From Munich to Ljubljana, sit on the right hand side of the train for best views (Bavarian Alps between Rosenheim and Salzburg, view of Feste Hohensalzburg just before arriving in Salzburg, then along Salzach river gorge and finally the descent on the Tauern Railway to Spittal-Millstättersee). From Schwarzach-St Veit to the summit of Tauern route you will have to look out on the left hand side though. :)

There is a Serbian restaurant car in the train from Bled to Villach, highly recommended even though it is a short journey and time may only be sufficient for a drink - very special atmosphere. Sadly Serbian Railway has only one restaurant car operational most of the time which means that the restaurant car is in the train every other day only - you have to be lucky. ;)

Thank you all for your responses. Do I just purchase my Lauterbrunnen - Interlaken tickets at the station itself?

Possible at any staffed station in Switzerland.

Thanks. I'll assume at least one of the stations before Interlaken for me will be staffed.

It is no problem to get the ticket in Interlaken Ost when you change trains - there are plenty of trains from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen. :)
Also, if you change in Brig you should have enough time to buy the ticket.

Many thanks again, wouldn't have been able to plan all this without the help of this forum .
Can sit back and relax and wait for August to come round now. :D

One minor point: I assume all train schedules are in local time? So whatever country train is in.
