Hi!

I'm going on a 22 day interrail from Oslo to Istanbul and back in Juli. Combining this long distance with a wish to see some places on the way, I will have to spend some night in couchettes.

So, what is most practical to bring: Would you recommend to bring a light sleeping bag (in so case, I'll have to buy one since I only have a couple of heavily insulated bags suited for outdoor sleeing during the Nordic winters) or is a fleece blanket ok, combined with a bed sheet bag (don't know the English word for it, but it is a very thin sleeping bag of silk serving as bed sheets on travel)?

What would you choose?

I hope to spend all train nights in couchettes, but if necessary I may also spend a night or two in a seat.

Hi.
I personally have always a very thin and lightweight sleeping bag with me. Less than 1kg and really small.
Usually you won't need a sleeping bag or sheet/blanket/... in a couchette as you get it for free there.
But such a thin sleeping bag is useful if you sleep on seats in a night train or somewhere else... so if you want to spent the money, buy a thin, lightweight sleeping bag - but that's my personal opinion. I paid for it about EUR 40 if I remember right and use it now since several years.
And finally... to support the free information and the forum on railcc, please be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
Peter :)

Thanks a lot! I see that a sleeping bag can be more useful. Just wanted to get an opinion from a more experienced interrailer :)
