Hi ,

i'm planning an inter rail for this summer. i have a couple of questions :
1) do i have to buy the inter rail ticket before i book night train's reservations ? If i can , how can i do it on line ?
2) the night train i am gonna need are the following : Barcellona - Paris ( 24th-25th of july ) , Amsterdam Zurigo(1st-2nd of August ) . Are there any connections you would suggest?
I already had a look on you web site and i saw that the connection Barcellona - Paris via night train is no longer available. Is it possible to know whether it will be available in the end of july ?

Thank you a lot ,
Luisa

Hi Luisa.

1
You can buy the Interrail reservations already before you buy your Interrail pass. Sometimes the staff at ticket windows at railway stations ask for the pass - but it is NOT required.
But pelase buy your official Interrail pass via the railcc website to support all the free information we offer and as well answers like this one: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] Thank you! :)

Barcelona - Paris: the direct night train no longer exist. And it was as wel a VERY expensive one for Interrailers.
Have a look at these options. A nice one is to include the Little Yellow Train. First up into the mountains, the Pyrenees from Barcelona. Then down to Perpignan. And then by inexpensive night train to Paris.
Read here: [ux]https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/
More options: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/barcelona-to-paris
You can buy the reservation for the French night train at railway stations or online at [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux] (order it together with your Interrail pass then to save shipping fees!)

Amsterdam - Zurich:
You have all these connections: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/amsterdam-to-zurich
It is even possible to use a free conncetion overnight. Not comfortable, but free: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/amsterdam-to-zurich
Otherwhise read the details bellow the map here - there you will find explanation on how to buy the reservations:

What's the next step after Zurich... if you want to continue to Italy, cross the Alps this way (it is amazing and FREE for Interrailers): https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
