Hi,
We are a family of 4 (5 yr old and 2 yr old) making our way from Biberach in Germany to Zurich to catch a train to Lake Como. The train I am looking at that seems the best option leaves Biberach at 8:25 am and gets to Zurich at 10:55 am, which seems ok for an 11:08 am train to Como. My problem is there is a 4 min transfer time in Schaffhausen (both trains on track 1). I know the swiss trains leave right on time, but is it very common for trains to be late?
I am concerned with the kids and strollers and car seats etc that we are lugging around that we will not be able to make it.
Is this feasible?

The other option is leaving at 6:25 am, but there is also a 6 min connection at another station from track 4 to 5.

I don't know which option is the best for a family, any help here is appreciated.

If we do not get to Zurich by 11, there is no more trains to como that day. So it is imperative that we get there!

Thanks so much,
cheers,
Marla

Hi Marla.
What date you want to travel?
The IRE coming from Ulm via Biberach to Schaffhausen is sometimes some minutes in delay, but not that often.
The IC is a German one.
You can never preview delays.
If you miss your connection in Schaffhausen, there are nearly every 30 minutes trains to Zurich.
From Zurich you have as well several connections also after 11:00h to Como.
If you talk about the direct EC train, there is the one at 11:09, 15:09, 17:09, ... and other connections with changes.
Do you travel with a rail pass? If yes, please support the free information and the forum on railcc, be fair and buy your official Interrail pass via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
Peter :)
