Hi,
I'm planning an inter railing trip with three of my friends. We fly to Rome on July 3rd and leave on a night train on the 6th, arriving in Vienna at around 8am. Our last train journey is to Paris from Berlin, arriving at 9am on the 15th.
Rome - Vienna
Vienna - Prague
Prague - Berlin
Berlin - Paris
Would it be safer to pay for the 10 in 22 or is it just fine going for the 5 in 10 days pass?

Hi!
There is absolutely no reason to get with the 10in22, the 5in10 covers your trip perfectly with even one spare travel day.
It would be great if you would support us and the free information provided on the site by purchasing your tickets through [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] (partner link for UK), thank you. :)
If you have further questions just ask.

Fab, that's good to hear. I was just worried in case something might have gone wrong/we had an emergency. Also, in terms of reservations, how do I go about it? The italian train website confused me a lot!

Go to Trenitalia website (trenitalia.com), where in the english version a red tab tickets should appear on the left. Enter route and date. A list of trains will appear, select the night train (the only direct train, EN 234). Choose kind of accomodation service, then the Global Pass option in the offer tab. Enter 000000 as card number, it might also work if you leave it blank. Click continue (even when a strange fare shows up as it is the case right now here). On the next page the correct price should be shown (9€ for a seat), you can now proceed to payment. Collection of the reservation is at the self service ticket machines at any station in Italy with the code that you will get after payment.

Is it possible to book 4 beds in a compartment (couchette?) as it keeps coming up saying the type of compartment is not required? Sorry for so many questions

Hi.
I just tried to book the reservation Rome-Vienna on the 6th July on the Trenitalia website. I got a 4-couchette without problem. But the prices seemed a bit wrong/confusing.
You can also try [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux] - select Rom Termini and Wien.

If you are 4 persons and you book a 4-persons-couchette, it doesn't matter if female or male. You have your 4 beds for you 4 persons.
It is possible to select female after you clicked the price for the reservation: Compartment type: female.

Does it now work via the Trenitalia website?
If you want to book a 4bed couchette compartment for your group of 4 travellers, make sure you get reservations for berths that are all in the same compartment: 41, 41, 45, 46 would be all in compartment 4 (the first number indicates the compartment).
