Hello,

I recently bought a Interrail ticket at an NS highspeed office in Amsterdam. Only for some weird reason they said the could only make one reservation... and I need to more more than just one.

Anyway I was wondering how I could book a ticket for the night train running from Budapest to Krakow. I can't find it anywhere on the internet.

And also for the Warshaw Berlin express. We want to go from Warshaw -> Berlin.

Hi!

You can normally buy this reseservation at ticket offices at train stations. At NS Hispeed you normally also have to pay quite a high booking fare, so the next time you could just buy your Interrail ticket in our partner ( [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] ) to support our work and the free information you get here.
So, just buy the reservation at any larger station on your way to Budapest (you could do so in Budapest as well but may risk the night train being fully booked). The train has to be booked with train number 10476, tell that to the staff in case they cant make the reservation at first try.

Berlin Warsaw Express can be reserved at stations as well, it wont be a problem to do so at a international ticket office at a station in Warsaw.

Thanks for the reply!

I didn't book it here because I read on the interrail site you have to book in 3 months in advance and and I was already overdue. I was scared it would take to long if i did it online, so I immediately went to to ticket office.

Later I heard the 3 month thing was nonsense (It was mainly so you could be on time for reservations). But next time or for other train tickets I use this site.

Thanks for your help :)

Indeed: the MAXIMUM pre-booking time for an Interrail pass is up to three months in advance.
Shipping can be done within 1-3 business days to most European countries.

You only CAN reserve from 3 month advacne-and not even that for most trains in/out of PL-it used to be not that long ago 2 month. In PL its often only 1 month or 30 days. Why all these youngies seem to think trains are then full, escapes me every time.
NS (formerHispeed) only does 1 RES extra, as they loose too much money already on that.

Hello guys,

thank you very much for all the information you have here.

I'm trying to book the night train from Budapest to Krakow through ÖBB booking centre in Austria, but they can't seem to find the night train. They have a night train with 2 connections, 1 in Břeclav and one in another place I don't really understand (but which is not Bohumín, if it was, I would just assume it would be the same night train splitted into 3). The only train he had left Budapest at 20:05 (check), then stop at Břeclav at 23:53 and leave at 00:25 (check and check), then to somewhere else at 04:something, and arriving Krakow at 06:26 (which doesn't check). I even called again when I found this topic asking him to book train #10476, but he told me that is to Břeclav, and then I would have switch as indicated. Any advice?

By the way, I paid 30€ with interrail pass for Krakow-Prague double sleeper, not the 21€. Either I was surcharged or maybe that information can be updated :)

Thank you very much

Hi.
I will have a look on the Krakow-Prague reservation fees. That's the problem: it is always a lot of information to update and to research. And as long as most users just use the railcc project for free without supporting it with their rail pass purchase via our partner link, we are also limited in the time we can spent on the project. :|
I hope you supported our work with your Interrail pass purchase via our railcc partner link: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)
What date do you want to travel the Budapest to Krakow night train?
Peter :)

Hej!

The station you are talking about is Katowice - the direct night train takes another route from Bohumin via Oswiecim to Krakow.
There are often problems with this night train as the Budapest - Krakow coaches are carried as through coaches in three different trains (Budapest - Breclav in the Budapest - Berlin train, Breclav - Bohumin in the Wien - Warszawa train and finally Bohumin - Krakow in the Praha - Krakow train) and are not shown in the schedule planner - if you enter Oswiecim as a via station, the train will be show, although again only with changes in Breclav and Bohumin. This is an error, the coaches run daily from Budapest to Krakow and no one has to get out of bed in the middle of the night and change trains! :D

Therefore the train ha to be booked manually by ÖBB staff: Entering of departure and arrival station, train number, time and date. I try to check at my local station but I am sure this works.

Regarding the 30/21€ reservation - thanks for the info. I put in the fares according to a document of the company responsible for service on the night train which is dates from December 2013 and says 21€. This should then be the fare if you purchase the reservation in Czech Republic, Hungary and other eastern European states. The 30€ should apply if you purchase the reservation at stations in Germany, Austria and other western European states.
However, online at website of Czech Railways they now also charge 30€ so it could be that the fares have been raised but the document not having been updated...I will try to check.

Hi Peter,

Absolutely no complaint intended, I have very recently started to browse the site and am grateful for all the work you do here. I just mentioned as a way of giving information back.

I am sorry to say that I didn't, at the time I bought it, although i knew the site, I was not aware of the sheer amount of info you have here, and of its importance to que interrail community. But I will definetely recomend it to my all my friends when they consider an interrail.

I was looking to book a double sleeper for June 9th (leaving budapest on 9 and arriving krakow on 10)

Thank you very much

Hello all. Just to let you know that I ended up booking this train when I arrived at Budapest, and there was no problem (double sleepers were still available). I paid the 21€ that you mentioned.

Thank you very much for your help.
