Passport and/or citizenship card in EU countries

Hi!
i'm planning on doing an interrail this july and i had a question about the passport. i'm portuguese so i have a citizenship card (i think that's how it's called) and because i'm not going to any country non EU, do i have to bring my passport or copies of my citizenship card and the card itself is enough?
