Nice - Barcelona (via Petit Train Jaune)

Hi,

Could you tell me if it is possible to go from Nice to Barcelona in a day and also use the Petit Train Jaune on the way?

I did Barcelona to Nice a few years ago and I remember it taking a long time! Hoping it would be possible to squeeze this in.

If not possible, where would be best to stay the night in France to do the mountain train to Barcelona?
