Hello there!
- There's about 3 months until my interrail adventure starts! - and yes, i'm looking forward to it, indeed.
On this adventure, my friend and i, will be visiting Paris, but from there we would very much like to go Italy. On our trip we'll mostly be visiting capitals, but we would love to visit smaller towns - which also can offer some great attractions or b beauty. This means that we do not want to take nighttrains but only regular ones. The plan is to end up in Rome. Can anyone suggest a route for us?
Hugs from Denmark.

Hej!
Without knowing more details of your planned route and how many days you have available, a possible route could be: Paris - Nice, then explore the area around Nice, for instance have a look at Grasse, Antibes, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Eze, Menton and Saorge) and continue along the Mediterranean Coast via Genova to Cinque Terre. From Cinque Terre you could continue via Lucca - Siena - Montepulciano to Rome...

Sounds like a nice route, thank you! - We'll be starting in London, and then to paris, then trough Italy, then greece, italy again, and up trough the country to berlin. We are on the tracks for a month, so i believe, your mentioned route, is just fine.
- Thanks for the tip, it means alot!

Alright, so if you have a full month you could also include one or two extra stops in France. For instance you could head for the Normandy coast at Le Treport or go to Le Havre and then by bus to Etretat and Yport before going to Paris.
On the way from Paris to Nice you could make a stop in Le Puy en Velay and than travel the Cevennes Railway to Nimes, from where you can head to Nice via Avignon/Aix/Arles or also include Marseille and the Calanques or the Cote Bleue: https://rail.cc/blog/scenic-train-cote-bleue/
On the way from Italy to Berlin I would recommend to travel the Bernina route through the Swiss Alps: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
