Hi,
Does anyone know if there is any feasible train connection from Nice to Milan in the end of June 2014? I found a good connection on this railcc, but I can't find those trains in the DB train search for my exact dates. It seems that those trains can't be found in DB train search anymore after about mid-June. For Saturday 14.6.2014 I can still find a good connection from Ventimiglia to Milano (the trains from Nice to Milan go through Ventimiglia - you need to change train in Ventimiglia). So, for 14.6. there is still a connection in DB train search which has no changes and takes less than four hours. Then, if I try to search this connection on Sunday 29.6. I can't anymore find it, but instead I can find some ridiculous train connection, which takes 6 changes and 20 hours! How is this possible?
Which is reliable information, the connection at railcc or the DB train search? I would suppose the DB train search is reliable, but is it possible that it doesn't have the schedule for next summer yet? Soon it's already mid-April, so I think it's very strange, if you can't see June train timetables yet. It still says in many places that you should be able to make train reservations at least already 90 days before the trip, so that's three months. End of June is only 2,5 months away. It would be nice to start soon reserving trains, flights, hostels etc. but if it's possible that you have to spend 20 hours in train with 6 train changes instead of no changes and less than four hours, it's very difficult to plan anything.
Can you please help me? Does anyone know why the DB train search doesn't show the Nice-Milan train connection anymore? Thank you very much already in advance!

Hi,
this is a common issue since in mid june timetables in many countries are amended. You can plan ahead with timings prior to 15 June until timings from this date onwards get available (which can still take quite some time, especially timings in Italy are usually only updated shortly before that timetable change).

Hi Flo,
Okay, thanks a lot for your answer! The link you sent says:
If you are looking for information about trains on a date after the changes, you will maybe not find the updated timetables. This is why you should just enter the date of the following day in order to find train connections, as these will probably be similar to the new ones after the changes anyways.
I can't quite understand what this following day means there. I can understand your answer: You can plan ahead with timings prior to 15 June until timings from this date onwards get available
So if I understand correctly, probably the schedule doesn't change much after mid June, so the Raildue timetables, and DB timetables prior to 15 June are quite reliable.
English is not my mother tongue, so I don't know if it's that or something else, but instead of saying you should just enter the date of the following day I think it should be something like you wrote now, so something like you should just enter the date prior to the timetable changes or something like that.

Hi.
Today: 07.04.2014
Check for connections for example on the 14.04.2014
[...you should just enter the date prior to the timetable changes...]
NO - NOT POSSIBLE. Because some trains are only viewable some weeks in advance (French night trains, etc...). So even if you fill in a date prior to the timetable changes you won't find them. The you should just enter the date of the following day is correct.
Example:
Expect today is the 02.02.204
Searching for a French night train on the 01.06.2014 = you won't find it.
Searching for a French night train on the 09.02.2014 = you will find it.
Trust us, we run the railcc project now since more than 15 years and know what we do.
