Hi!
I'm planning a trip for this summer, with some friends, we are looking for a train from Berlin to Warsaw. We are taking a lot of night train to save time, and I saw this one:

https://rail.cc/en/interrail/berlin-to-warsaw

We have 2 changes (not a problem), but the first change is in Angermünde (Germany), we arrive at 21h28 and then, the other train to Szczecin leaves at 21h32. Which means, we only have 4 min to get out the first train et get in the other one. I was wondering if it was normal and if it's possible, 4 min is very short!
Thanks in advance, have a nice day :)

Hi Alex.
Angermünde is a very very small station. Usually it should fit, but you can never preview if a train is in delay.
If you want to be 100% sure, take the connection Berlin-Angermünde-Szcecin two hours earlier departing at 18:33h in Berlin.
And to support all this information, please buy your Interrail pass via railcc: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - thank you! :)
Peter :)

Hej Alex,

just to add: The train from Berlin arrives at platform 3, the one to Szczecin leaves at platform 4 which means you just have to cross the platform.
In general, we only list changes of trains (the same applies for online schedule planners) which are possible to make under normal conditions - you can never preview if a train is delayed or not on your exact travel day.

2-3 yrs ago I had that assumed connection-but due to works on the line before that train comes into the Berlin tunnel, it was already +45 in berlin and nearly 1 hr late in Angerm. It was FRI and there were loads of Polish workers wanting to go back home and all were extremyl angry.
Note that also for seats you MUST reserve now for Polish/PKP TLK trains. The seats are the old communist style narrow cramped 8 in a coupe. There are also cheap kushet-tanie kushet, NO bedding, for about 26 PLN (6 eur).
You can buy cheap singles from any point in Berlin to Szcz for just 10- eur-incl the tram in Szcz-so you might want to go earlier and see that town. You have to pay for that train anyway-the 19.00 rule only applies to the direct nighttrain.

Thanks for your info!
I'm french, so english is not my mother tongue, I just have a few more questions, to be sure I understood everything!

By you must reserve, you mean that it's not included in the interrail pass because we are taking a night train after?
So we need to pay an extra for Berlin/Szcs, and when can we reserve it? can we do it in Berlin just 2/3 days before, when we will be there or is it advised to do it before the trip (a few weeks or a few months earlier?)
It's our first interrail trip, so we don't know anything about it, and we are trying to know as many thing as we can to avoid bad surprises ;)
do you think it's better to take this night train or to take a day train for Berlin/Warsaw ?

thanks again!
Alex

All long distance trains in Poland operated by PKP Intercity have compulsory seat reservation: these are called TLK and EIC trains, in international traffic BWE and EC: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/poland/pl

Seat reservations are free when made at a station in Poland, in other countries you pay the regular fare for a seat reservation, for instance if you make a seat reservation in Germany for a TLK train in Poland you have to pay 4,50€.
Normally it will be sufficient to make the reservation a few days in advance, for instance during your stay in Berlin.

I think the night train is a quite good deal, however the trains during the day are quite quick as well so you might just stay one extra night in Berlin and then take the first train in the morning to Warsaw.
What you could also do: Leave Berlin early in the morning and head for the island of Usedom for a day at the beach. You can then take the night train from Świnoujście to Warsaw.
