Hello,

Does anybody know if I can take my bike on the train from Venice to Salzburg? (via Villach). Reservation necessary?
I prefer not to reserve. Thanks.

Hi!

What connection do you mean by the train? The only direct train is the night train to Vienna, which has no dedicated bicylce storage. There is a daytime connection with a change of trains in Villach, for both trains a reservation will be necessary.

Does it say anything on bicycle transport, all without reservation weeks, months on beforhand, since we do not know if we shall arrive in Venice, because of a blessure, physical problem on the joints.

You will find information about trains which allow bicycles on board on a schedule planner: https://rail.cc/en/train-ticket-schedules

You _will_ need reservations for your bike in any case, unless it is a folding bike which you carry in a bag; if you have a full sized bike it might be considered regular luggage if you disassemble at least the front wheel and put the whole bike in a bag but I am not 100% sure about this.
