Hi everyone,
myself and my friend are going interrailing in August for about 15 days. We were going to fly into Brussels (cheapest flights we can find) and fly home from Italy- maybe Venice. We would like to see Croatia and will prob leave it to the end and then take a ferry to Italy and fly home from there (flights from Croatia are too expensive). How many places could we see in between? Any route suggestions? What interrail pass should we get and roughly how much money should we be thinking?
We have both been to Amsterdam before so don't want to go there but apart from that we are pretty open!
Thanks :)

hey,
I would suggest the 5 in 10 pass and maybe buy a ticket from Bruxelles to another city or to Venice :)
I can recommend a day trip from Bruxelles to Brugges or you can find cheap tickets to Cologne.
For the rest you have so many choices.
There are some nice places in Germany, which are worth to see. E.g. if you are in Cologne you can travel through the Middle Rhine Valley, which is quite nice. You can also take a train to Munich: https://rail.cc/en/train/brussels-to-munich or Prague: https://rail.cc/en/train/brussels-to-prague from both cities you can get directly connected trains to Croatia. I can suggest to visit Dubrovnik or Plitvice Lakes National Park. But there are no train connections to both places. But up to you. Last year I took a ferry from Bari to Dubrovnik; you can use it in the other direction.
So all in all I would recommend to visit maximal 7 other places, instead of Bruxelles and Venice.
The amount of money depends on your way of traveling, eating and staying over night and the places you visit. A good calculator: https://rail.cc/en/overall-costs

Thanks a million for the reply. Do you think we'd have enough time to see 7 places?
Anyone any advice on places we should definitely see?

Hi!
If you want to see several differnt cities and places you could think about the 5in10 InterRail Global Pass; if you are happy with just one or two longer stopovers along the route, you may do just fine with regular pre booked tickets.
