Hello Everyone,
I´m planning my first Inter-Rail trip, end June/beginning July this year!
It will be the first time with 3/4 friends, and no doubt i'll be supporting the railcc page by buying the ticket as soon as I finalise everything, it has been amazing help!
So my main goals for the Interrail are to visit most major cities within Europe in 15 days or so :
I know it maybe be a day or two in most places so any night trains suggestions would be great as well as places with cheap accommodation (I know swiss/munich area is a bit expensive ? OR so I've heard)
Anyway our round was going to go like this:
Plane to London - Madrid spend a day or two there then start using the interrail pass:
Madrid - Barcelona (Night Train) - Nice -Milan - Zurich - Munich - Vienna - Bratislava - Hungary - Prague (Night Train) - Berlin - Amsterdam - Brussels
Then take Eurostar back to London. Is this doable? Our main goal is to visit the main sites and city areas, scenery isn't a must but can never hurt right?
Any Ideas about our plan? (Our main issue is from Barcelona to Nice since TGV reservations are hard to get the day before? Any good routes? Also recommended days spent in some places and accomodation would be great! Thank you in advance!)

Hi Ashley.
A route which is easy to travel ... :)
Barcelona-Nice: also possible by free local trains. Slower but nice along the coast. Maybe even have a stop in between or add the Little Yellow Train: Barcelona - Latour de Carol - Perpignan. Overnight stop in Perpignan, then continue by free local trains to Nice.

And thank you for supporting us with your purchase. :)

Hi!
Thanks for supporting! :)
What kind of pass have you intended to buy? Within just 15 days it's going to be a packed schedule if you want to visit all cities. Doable, but quite intense - if possible I'd try to add a few days.
With just 15 days available you wont be able to spend much more than one day in each city.
I can recommend Wombats hostels in Munich, Vienna, Budapest and Berlin; the Sant Jordi hostels in Barcelona are very good as well...in Nice there is a youth hostel at Mont Boron with great views from the rooftop terrace.
You can add night trains on the following routes:
Madrid - Barcelona
Munich - Vienna
Hungary (Budapest I suppose?) - Prague
Berlin - Amsterdam
:arr: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train
You could try and rearrange the route like this: Zurich - Vienna - Munich - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague, using night trains on every leg except Budapest - Bratislava.
As already suggested by Peter I would definitely recommend the Bernina route across the Swiss Alps if you want to travel a very scenic route.
Barcelona - Nice is easiest by regional trains as already mentioned as well, although it will take a whole day of travel.
To go home you might also consider taking the ferry from Hook van Holland (travelling Berlin - Bruxelles (night train available to Cologne with connection to Bruxelles) - Amsterdam, then using a Rail&Sail ticket from Amsterdam): https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/
For Eurostar tickets also look at [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf[/ux] and [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux]
