Hi!
Im going on a 3week trip with my gf to central europe in 4 - 25 july and ive got some questions!:)
We're flying from helsinki Finland to Budapest Hungary then by train - Wien Austria - Brno Czech Republic - back to Wien - Graz - Bled Slovenia - And from milano we fly back to helsinki 25.7. This is what we have roughly planned :)
We bought a 2,1 kg tent (planning to only wild camp ½-1h from cities), ive got my ti tri fissure as im making our food (obsession as a chef):D
Showering? As we dont stay at hostels or camping grounds. Are there showers in any of the cities railstations? Public swimming pools, beaches etc? :)
I´ve roughly counted that ill be carrying about 10-11kg. How does that sound? (im 1,7m tall and weight 65kg)
1. Think we could sqeeze in a visit in plitvice kroatia?
2. Daily budget? If we dont pay for sleeping and buy food from supermarkets.
3. Showering?
4. Weight of backpack?
Any tips/criticism is appreciated! :)

Hi!
1) Yeah, should be no problem. However, consider that you will have to go there by bus from Zagreb.
2) 10€ - this is just an estimate but you can really stay on the cheap side if you'd just buy from supermarkets (or, even better, proper markets as can be found in all these cities) - maybe spare some € for lockers, public transport if needed...
3) Difficult. Showers at stations are rare and I would not know of any in the cities you are going to visit.
4) Around 10kg should be no problem...I think my photo bag alone weighs about 5kg when I am doing a longer trip... :D
Regarding wild camping...I cant give you much tips on that; personally I dont like it that much since you always have to lug around your backpack and tent the whole day (I would not leave it pitched during the day) and spend money on lockers at stations. Also, dont underestimate time and effort to get out of the big cities to find a nice spot to sleep.

What kind of ticket(s) do you intend to buy?

Alright, IMO the 22continuous would be overkill; I just count six trips currently, you will be fine with the 10in22 as well, spend the money on some good food/beer instead... ;)
You might also add a few other destinations...you could for instance head for Cesky Krumlov and the Moldau reservoir area around Lipno/Horni Plana; go to Switzerland :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/

Hmm but with the 10 travel days in 22 days we need to buy tickets to get to and away from the city as we wild camp?:O

We´re not adding any destinations yet but thanks for the tip! We dont want to plan entirely our route:)

Humm, havent thought of that, although the question is if it'd be cheaper if you'd combine the cheaper pass with extra tickets to get in/out of town.

Just two thoughts:
- be careful when doing wild camping, it might be forbidden on some of the places/countries you are planning to go. I don`t think you want to be shaken awake by police, and sentenced for doing forbidden things..
If you stay on campsites, you will be safe, and the shower problem would also be solved.
- I don`t know about showers at stations, so going to a public pool would be the best idea.

Yeah we're aware that it might not be legal but i hope we will be ok if we stop at a small town/countryside:)
