Hello,
I am starting to plan my interrail trip and I was wondering if I can travel only with the IR pass in trains that don't require reservations, or do I need to get some kind of ticket? Or, If someone asks me to see my ticket, is it enough to show them my IR pass?

Thank you (:

yes-no-yes. Better make a better understandable question to answer.
However- you must/should always note down the trips you make in the leaflet attached to the ticket-date, from...to, train nr. etc.

Hi.
Please read the first timer information: https://rail.cc/en/first-time-interrail
The Interrail pass is your ticket.
On some trains an extra reservation is required which you have to buy beside your Interrail pass (for example at stations during your trip).
However, there are usually alternative train connections avoiding these extra reservation fees. Best examples are Amsterdam-Paris or Paris-London. To the UK you can travel for example by ferry: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/
Or as well the free crossing of the Alps - longer than the direct route, but free and much more scenic: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
More connections here: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
If you have a look at the connections here on railcc before you travel, you will surely save some money. :)
Peter :)
