Dear railcc team,

I am wondering, I didn't think about this enough earlier, what kind of luggage I can bring on most trains with my rail pass?

I will be going through Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and the UK.

Can I bring a backpacking backpack and a guitar? Worst case scenario could I bring a backpacking backpack, guitar, and a large rolling suitcase?

Thanks,
Spencer

Hej Spencer!

There are different regulations in each country but in practice it wont be a problem to take your backpack and guitar with you, even adding the suitcase should be no problem - however, I really do not recommend bringing the suitcase, you want to have at least one free hand! :D
Seriously, a standard (about 65 litres) sized backpack will be enough, even for longer travels. Maybe think about taking a small day bag with you which you can use while sightseeing (I usually travel with my backpack plus an extra shoulder bag for my photo equipment plus other small things I need during the day).
