Hi, i'm new so I hope this is the right place for this.

I'm currently planning an interrailing trip, and want to take the Golden Pass Line from Montreux to Interlaken, via Zweissimmen.
I just wondered if anyone had any experience travelling this line, and how punctual the trains are, as the train I was hoping to get from Montreux to Zweissimmen arrives less than 10 minutes before the next one leaves there for Interlaken, and if I were to miss that change i'd have to wait 2 hours for the next. Do they hold the trains there if the one from Montreux is late?

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Hi!

Generally, trains in Switzerland are very punctual. I have done this route (Luzern - Interlaken - Zweisimmen - Montreux) twice and had no troubles changing trains. What exact connection do you want to take?
Even if there were a minor delay I am pretty sure the train would wait as many people change there as they want to travel the whole Golden Pass Route just as you - dont worry, it will be fine. ;)

Well, the train from Montreux gets in to Zweisimmen at 11:32, and the train to Interlaken leaves there at 11:38, so there's just a 6 minute gap between the arrival and the departure.

Hi.
Like Flow already wrote: relax. Zweissimmen is a small station: https://rail.cc/en/zweisimmen/zweisimmen-railway-station/l3957 ... and if there is a minor delay, the connection train will wait due to all the tourist changing here.

By the way, as you travel Switzerland by Interrail, two helpful links:
- Interrail map: ...
- and a blog post about free crossing of the Alps with Interrail (a very scenic route!): https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/

Thanks so much, that really helps. I presumed they would probably be held if the first train was late, but just thought i'd check before booking. Cheers!
