To cut the cost of accommodation during our time in Switzerland, my friends and I plan on camping in the Jungfrau region/just outside of Interlaken, seeing as we intend to spend our time hiking/walking in the countryside anyway.
Is this a good idea? Does anyone have any experience wildcamping in this area? All tips appreciated :)
Thanks,
Rory

Hej,
well I cant tell you excatly about the situation there; in general communities decide on their own whether it is allowed/tolerated or not. It is forbidden in reservations, national parks and the like.
In any case it is a good idea to ask the landowner (if possible) and to not make any fires.
Since the Jungfrau area is quite touristy I dont know how easy it would be for you to find a quiet place where you wouldnt be bothered - it might be a good idea to ask at the local tourist board for further informations.

Great help, thanks! Are local landowners likely to speak good English? My friends and I don't speak much German/French.
