Hi all,

I'm a newbie to posting on forums, so I'm hoping I don't break any rules!

Myself and a friend are looking to buy a 10 day pass and travel to the above cities.
I have 3 questions:

1. Is this travel route feasible? we want to enjoy our travels and spend as little time on the train as possible.
2. Can you recommend any alternative routes/travel plans to the below schedule?
3. Do you have any general advice/comments?

Schedule:

10th May 2013
Depart (London): 11:01
Arrive (Paris): 14:17

12th May 2013
Depart (Paris): 19:59 – Sleeper
Change (Milan): 06:00
Depart (Milan): 06:23
Arrive (Rome): 09:39 (13th May)

16th May 2013
Depart (Rome): 19:04 – Sleeper
Change (Munich): 06:30
Depart (Munich): 07:13
Arrive (Berlin): 13:08 (16th May)

19th May 2013
Depart (Berlin): 20:08 – Sleeper
Arrive (Paris): 09:24 (20th May)

Depart (Paris): 12:43
Arrive (London): 14:00

Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Interrail schedules including details about reservation fees are here:
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

You should note:

- the Eurostar London-Paris requires an Interrail reservation fee of EUR 75 per person one-way.
Better to travel an other option or just buy special price tickets ( [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux] ) and don't travel this route by Interrail: https://rail.cc/blog/london-to-paris-by-eurostar-train-bus-or-ferry//

- the night train Paris-Milan is not included in Interrail. The high-speed-train from Milan to Rome requires an additional reservation of EUR 10: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-rome

- from Berlin back to the UK, you can also include Amsterdam and then return by ferry with a Rail&Sail ticket: https://rail.cc/blog/from-london-to-amsterdam-with-the-dutchflyer/

In total: think about interrailing - if it is really worth. Or skip Rome and include an other city.

Peter :)

Hi!

If your travel dates are fixed and you want to stick with that route, have a look at regular advance fare tickets since IR does not make much sense on that route due to the facts Peter already mentioned (Eurostar and Thello night train).

Eurostar: [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/nsinternational[/ux]
Thello (night train Paris - Milan - Venice): [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] or Thello website
Rome - Berlin via Munich and Berlin - Paris: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]
