Hey guys,
in three weeks i will finish my exames and i'll have two months holiday. It would be nice to do some holiday, but what to do in the winter? A friend of mine meant, i should do an Interrail, so i did some research, actually i'm still doing it, and think it would be a great thing!
My idea at the moment is, forget about the fact that it's winter and do it 8) I don't no, if i have time during my summer holidays and if, i probably would do a trip with my bike, like the last three summers. My plan is (i live in Germany) to start at Vienna and then move south/west along the Mediterranean Sea, to citys like Venice,Rome,Milan, Barcelona, Madrid and last but not least Paris.
It would be my first Interrail and i'm a bit doubtful, if it is a good idea in February. As it seems at the moment, i would be on my own, because the exames of my friends are until the middle of March (when i wan't to be back) but this isn't a big deal, it makes it a bit delightfull to start on my own, hopefully i would find some nice people :) The good things are, that the citys wouldn't be so crowded, maybe the hostels would be cheaper and i have the time to do it. Yes, and the bad side would be the weather, espacially if its raining all the time...
So, whats better now, to take the risk an start in February or to save the money and do it this summer, if i have the time to?
Greetings, Leo :)

Hi Leo.
You always have advantages and disadvantages in every time of the year you travel. :)
Advantages in February are: less travellers in trains, hostels and cities, not too hot in the cities.
Disadvantages: the weather - maybe - but you might also have luck, especially in Italy and Spain.
If you want to do it, do it. As well there is a promotion on Interrail this Spring: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-new-prices-for-2014-new-low-season-discoun/f10328
I will update the prices on the website as well this week.

Hi Peter,
is it corret, that the ticket 10 days within 22 days would cost 229€ ? That would be a great deal, for me as a student :)
Do you have some citys, places, etc. that would be a good idea to go in February? I don't have a real idea beside going as south as possible.
Do you have any experince concerning other travlers at this time? It would be rahter mad if there aren't other guys doing an Interrail or something comparative.

Yes. EUR 229 in low-season.
If you stay in hostels, you will always meet other travellers. Join some pub crawls and you will never be alone! :)

Hey Leo! I´m also doing Interrail in Feburary / March . If you need some inspiration check my topic and the great replies from peter, loiseau and flow. I will visit all the cities you mentioned in your first post and a few more.
I will go on my own and i can only recommend to go too, if you want. Why wait :) ?
