Good evening everyone,
I'm planning to go Interrailing in 2015 (either summer or winter I'm not sure yet) and I am looking for some advice. This is my planned route:
Flight: Glasgow to Paris.
Trains:
Paris – Antwerp
Antwerp – Amsterdam
Amsterdam – Berlin
Berlin – Prague
Prague – Vienna
Vienna – Zurich
Zurich – Grenoble
Grenoble – Marseille
Flight: Marseille – Glasgow.
I am looking to travel for around a month so that I can see a fair bit of the places while I am there! I know roughly how much this will cost me. But I would like to ask a few questions:
1) Does this sound like a good route which can be done in a month?
2) Do you think winter or summer suits these locations?
3) I will possibly be travelling alone so would I meet people along the way? (I'll most likely be staying in hostels)
Thanks a lot!

Hi.
Still a long time to go. So just some thoughts.
Why to fly? Use trains - the Eurostar from London to Paris and back. You start from the middle of the city and arrive in the middle of the city. No need to go outside of the cities to the airports. If you book your tickets early in advance, you can get good prices: [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux]
Your whole route is easy possible within one month. I would even add some more places in Eastern-Europe for example (Krakow, Budapest, ...).
To cross the Alps, have a look here: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
You will easily meet people when staying in hostels. :)

... and as for the best time: I prefer Spring or Autumn. Hostels and trains not too full as it is not peak season. :)

Hi, I really appreciate your reply!
I suppose that taking the train would be easier considering Paris station is close to the centre of
Paris. I was thinking of adding a few cities in Eastern Europe like Poland and perhaps Bosnia and Herzegovina(heard great things about some places there!)
Thanks for the links you have sent me and yes I was considering going in autumn due to some of the reduced prices and stuff. I also really fancy winter though due to the route over the alps!
Thanks very much for your reply once again,
Michael
